X'S LAND QUALITY STARTER AND KEY BULLPEN ARM

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Explorers have added another top notch starter to its 2015 rotation by agreeing to terms with RHP Dustin Loggins, while also adding depth to the bullpen with the addition of RHP Billy Bullock.

Loggins whom currently resides in Waynesville, MO will join the X’s in 2015 after recently being provided his release from the Arizona Diamondbacks organization where he spent the 2014 season as a member of the Hillsboro Hops in the Northwest league.  The 6’5, 230 lb Loggins had a sensation season for the Hops in 2014 by appearing in 27 games and accumulating a 1-1 record with a miniscule 1.18 ERA in 38.0 innings of work.  On the season, Loggins recorded 47 strikeouts to only allowing 18 walks, while holding opposing hitters to a mere .164 batting average and for his efforts he was named a mid-season all-star in the Northwest League.  Loggins is no stranger to the American Association as he played for the Kansas City T-Bone in 2012 after finishing his college career at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, MO.   Loggins appeared in 13 games out of the bullpen for the T-Bones in 2012 and was 0-1 with a 5.82 ERA while recording 14 strike outs and 9 free passes.  The 2012 season also saw Loggins take his talents to Australia where he was a member of the Canberra franchise in the Australian Baseball League.  In Canberra, Loggins recorded a 4-2 record with a 2.31 ERA in 23.1 innings out of the bullpen for the Calvary.  In 2013 as a member of the T-Bones, Dustin had a 7-6 record with a 4.13 ERA while appearing in 30 games and making 13 starts.  In 104.2 innings, Loggins struck out 101 hitters and only allowed 38 walks which caught the eye of the Diamondbacks.

The 2015 season will mark Loggins fourth season in professional baseball. Over his career, the tall right-hander has a 12-10 record in 183.0 innings pitched and he has struck out 193 batters, allowed only 47 walks while posting a 3.44 ERA.

Bullock was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 20th round of the 2006 MLB June Amateur Draft from Riverview HS in Riverview Florida and the Minnesota Twins in the 2nd round of the 2009 MLB June Amateur draft from the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL).  The 27-year-old from Riverview, FL spent two years in the Twins Organization (2009-2010) and another 3 seasons in the Atlanta Braves farm system (2011-2013) Over his career, Bullock has spent parts of (3) seasons at the AA level and parts of (2) seasons at the AAA level and has posted a 11-11 record, while appearing in 190 games out of the bullpen and in 227.2 innings, he has recorded 294 strikeouts and has allowed only 153 walks, good for a 1.92 strikeout to walk ratio.
