11th annual Siouxland Sleep Out to fight homelessness

SIOUX CITY, IA - On Friday November 6th, the outfield of Sioux City Explorers baseball park will become a cardboard city.


On any given night in Siouxland, hundreds of homeless men, women and children sleep outside, in cars, and in homeless shelters. There are no simple sulutions. As part of the 11th annual Siouxland Sleep Out, some 200 Siouxlanders will hunker down for the night in cardboard shelters at Lewis & Clark park to raise money and awareness to fight homelessness in the area.


The Mental Health Agency (MHA) of Siouxland, organizes this annual event to increase awareness of Siouxland homeless and to raise funds to help support the following agencies:


Siouxland Mental Health Center

Henry Muller Hall

Shesler Hall

Community Action Agency of Siouxland

Gospel Mission

Center for Siouxland


Siouxland Coalition to end homelessness
