Peter Barrows stole the show in Winnipeg Friday night, the 6-foot-5 righty hit not one, not two, but three home runs, driving in all five X's runs in just three swings of the bat helping the Explorers beat the Goldeyes, 5-2. Barrows' struck out in his first plate appearance in the opening frame. But in his next three at-bats, Barrows went yard, including a three-run shot in the third inning that put the Explorers on top for good. In the four game series, Barrows went nine-for-18 with three homers, nine runs batted in and seven runs scored. 2B Mike Murphy chipped in a 1-3 night at the plate to extend to his hitting streak to 16 games.
Sioux City starting pitcher Jason Jarvis threw his league leading 6th complete game of the season and allowed only two runs to pick up his eighth win to pull back to .500 on the year. Goldeyes LF Kyle Day scored both of his club's runs and hit his fourth home run of the season in the fifth inning. But neither Day nor any other player outshined Barrows' blue moon bat.
