Sioux City-----Lincoln evened the series Saturday night with a 7-4 win over the Explorers in the middle game of the three-game series.
Lincoln jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning as the Saltdogs sent nine batters to the plate highlighted by a lead off home run by Dan Carroll. The Explorers came back and tied the game at 3-3 in the third inning and then took the lead in the fifth inning at 4-3 on a throwing error by Lincoln pitcher Matt Bywater, which allowed Yusuke Inoguchi to score from third base.
Lincoln would take the lead for good with two runs in the seventh inning off relief hurler Josh Rainwater and then the Saltdogs added two insurance runs in the ninth inning for their 7-4 victory.
Inoguchi led the Explorers with four hits and now has seven hits in the first two games of the series.
