Sales Executive
The Sioux City Explorers Professional Baseball Team, LLC, a member of the American Association of Professional Baseball, are seeking highly motivated individuals looking to begin or continue their career in sales while also having a passion for Baseball through the selling of season tickets, group ticket and meal packages, and corporate advertising for the 2010 season.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Responsible for generating and developing new business through leads lists, name collection activities, cold calls, networking events, speaking engagements, etc.
- Ongoing solicitation of corporations and group organizations within surrounding communities for the purpose of creating new business.
- Keep accurate sales files, customer service files, call reports, appointment schedule reports, prospect reports, etc. Maintain weekly communication with General Manager or his designate on all sales activity.
- During the season, work will entail maintaining a communication line with the client to assure that their experience with the Sioux City Explorers and/or their time at the ballpark is a first class experience.
- Represent the team in positive manner year round and provide exceptional service before, during, and after the sale!

- Serve as an event planner for each group – Must oversee and execute the entire group event from beginning to end to insure a successful outing for the client and their guests, and any other specific duties related to the group outing.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Knowledge of the Sioux City Explorers in order to provide the customer with the best possible service. Training Provided.
- Possess excellent customer service skills – Handle problems with customers in an efficient and courteous manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – you have to like to talk to people!
- Computer experience is necessary
- Excellent time management
- A flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays (throughout the season)
- Previous sales experience and success preferred but not necessary.
- Knowledge of and or experience with youth leagues, schools, churches, civic organizations and recreation departments in and around the City of Sioux City is a plus
- MUST BE A TEAM PLAYER!

Public Address Announcer
This position is game day seasonal position that runs from May - September. Background in radio, drama or comedy preferred but not required.

*In charge of all in stadium announcements
*Public address announcer for approximately half of the Explorers home games
*Knowledge of baseball required
*Responsible for energizing the crowd and contestants during all games

2010 Summer Internships
Promotions Internship (3 positions)
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Coordinate scheduling of pre-game events and in-between inning activities
- Assist with special promotions, theme nights, player-fan interactive events
- Prepare props for game execution
- Putting giveaway items at the gates and keeping track of them
- Proactively selling ticket packages and groups
- Assist in establishing a family-oriented atmosphere at all games
- Assist with all events during game time

Box Office/Group Sales Internship
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in the day to day operations of the ticket office.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist with general office duties including phone and mail responsibilities.
- Proactively selling ticket packages and groups.
- Maintain group sales and ticket package database.
- Learning, operating and troubleshooting various aspects of the Explorers ticket office operations.
- Develop a complete working knowledge of the entire Explorers ticketing system.
- Processing ticket order via window sales, telephone sales and online ticket orders
- Operate ticket window for game night sales, as well as the Will Call window.
- Assist in supervising ticket taker operations on game nights.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager & General Manager

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled as a full time student at a college or university.
- Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, demonstrate excellent follow-through, and have an understanding of appropriate business etiquette.
- Ability to work in a team setting while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends and able to commit to the entire 2010 Explorers home game schedule (May - August).
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, well-organized and strong computer knowledge.

Clubhouse Manager
Clubhouse Manager Job Description

The majority of the time, the clubhouse provides the focal point and ‘heart’ of a baseball club. It often determines the way a player develops and the level of success he has both on and off the field. A well managed clubhouse offers a multi-functional facility, from providing a meeting room to acting as a second home to the players. It is a vital role of the clubhouse manager to provide maximum customer service to players, coaches, personnel, umpires. These duties are essential to making our coaching staff, players and Explorers personnel pleased when they arrive. A clean and organized clubhouse leaves a good impression with the coaches and players. Making our players short stay in Sioux City a memorable one will be an advantage to maximizing your income from dues and tips. Customer service is also a big contributor to making visiting teams feel like they were at their own ballpark. The more customer service friendly the Clubhouse Manager is, the more money they will make

The following is a list of responsibilities of the Clubhouse Manager. Responsibilities are not limited to this list.

Pre-Season Clubhouse Responsibilities

-Uniform inventory (pants, jerseys, BP tops, belts, loops, socks)

-Equipment inventory (bats, pine tar, bat weights, catcher’s gear, balls, etc.)

-Cleaning (Both Clubhouses – coaches’ room/bathroom, players’ lobby, bathroom/shower lockers, clubby office, umpires room)

Pre- Game Clubhouse Responsibilities

-Provide umpires with pre-game beverages and or food, towels for after game, and ticket requests, whatever they need.

-Greet Visiting Team upon arrival, have towels in thier clubhouse, ask coach if they need anything.

-Get umpires 4 to 5 dozen game balls w/ bag.

-Help set-up and breakdown BP equipment.

-Fill water coolers and put cups out for both sides (dugout and in clubhouse)

-Provide Pass List to both team, set-up light snack after BP for both teams (Turn pass list in by 5:30)

Post Game Duties

-Cleaning of home and visitors clubhouse, bathrooms, lounge, coaches’ office (vacuum, mop, remove all trash,stock supplies)

-Assure post game meal is in both home and visitors clubhouse as soon as the game is over.

-Do Laundry for both teams, umpires and assure laundry is complete and hung up in thier locker.

End of Season Clubhouse Close-Out Responsibilities

-Thorough cleaning of both clubhouses, coaches’ offices, and bathrooms

-Equipment and uniform inventory

The end of season clubhouse close-out is a necessary task to winterize the stadium for the off season. If academic schedules conflict with close-out please notify the Explorers’ prior to employment. The Clubhouse Manager will take inventory and give copies to the Explorers’ General Manager for review

This position is a full time job that is exhausting but very rewarding. The Clubhouse Manager has the potential to make a nice income over the short course of our 48-home game season. Being a Clubhouse Manager allows freedom to create your own work schedule and cleaning routine. The Clubhouse Manager must be at the clubhouse at the same time players and coaches are to address uniform, equipment and visiting team issues.

The Sioux City Explorers have pride in the service they provide to the fans that enter the gates and we expect the same service to visiting teams and home team staffs.

Radio Producer/Board Operator
The Sioux City Explorers Baseball Club is currently seeking a radio producer for the upcoming 2010 baseball season. The radio producer will work at 1360 KSCJ radio, the Explorers broadcast outlet, during the pre-season exhibition games, all 96 regular season games, and during the playoffs.

Responsibilities include running the Explorers broadcast from start to finish by inserting commercials and station breaks during game action, getting in and out of KSCJ satellite programming, gathering updated commercials throughout the baseball season along with other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Broadcasting.

Duties could also include additional work hours at KSCJ affiliated stations KSUX 105.7, KOOL 99.5, 102.3 Jack FM and Y 101.3.
