The Sioux City Explorers Professional Baseball Team is a member of the American Association of Professional Baseball. The 2012 season will mark the organizations 20th season in Sioux City.
The Sioux City Explorers have an opening for a Certified Athletic Trainer for the 2012 season.
This position will require an individual to be present during all of spring training along with being available for all 50 home games as well as travel with the team for all 50 road games.
The position will require the individual to be available to be in Sioux City, IA beginning no later than May 4th and remain with the team through the regular season which concludes on September 3rd and remain with the team in the event the team clinches a spot in the post season play-offs.
This is a full time seasonal position with salary based on experience.

This position is game day seasonal position that runs from May - September for home games only. Background in radio, drama or comedy preferred but not required.
*In charge of all in stadium announcements
*Public address announcer for approximately half of the Explorers home games
*Knowledge of baseball required

| 2012 Group Sales/Season Ticket Sales Executive |
The Sioux City Explorers Professional Baseball Team, LLC, a member of the American Association of Professional Baseball, are seeking a highly motivated individual looking to begin or continue their career in sales while also having a passion for Baseball through the selling of season tickets, group ticket and meal packages for the 2012 season.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Responsible for generating and developing new business through leads lists, name collection activities, cold calls, networking events, speaking engagements, etc.
- Ongoing solicitation of corporations and group organizations within surrounding communities for the purpose of creating new business.
- Keep accurate sales files, customer service files, call reports, appointment schedule reports, prospect reports, etc. Maintain weekly communication with General Manager and Assistant General Manager on all sales activity.
- During the season, work will entail maintaining a communication line with the client to assure that their experience with the Sioux City Explorers and/or their time at the ballpark is a first class experience while focusing on group sales.
- Represent the team in positive manner year round and provide exceptional service before, during, and after the sale!
- Serve as an event planner for each group – Must oversee and execute the entire group event from beginning to end to insure a successful outing for the client and their guests, and any other specific duties related to the group outing.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Knowledge of the Sioux City Explorers long standing tradition in order to provide the customer with the best possible service. Training Provided.
- Possess excellent customer service skills – Handle problems with customers in an efficient and courteous manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – you have to like to talk to people!
- Computer experience is necessary
- Excellent time management
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays (throughout the season)
- Previous sales experience and success preferred but not necessary.
- Knowledge of and or experience with youth sports leagues, schools, churches, civic organizations and recreation departments in and around the City of Sioux City is a plus.

Promotions Internship (Three positions available)
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Coordinate scheduling of pre-game events and in-between inning activities
- Assist with special promotions, theme nights, player-fan interactive events
- Prepare props for game execution
- Putting giveaway items at the gates and keeping track of them
- Proactively selling ticket packages and groups
- Assist in establishing a family-oriented atmosphere at all games
- Assist with all events during game
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager & General Manager
Box Office/Group Sales Internship (One Position Available)
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in the day to day operations of the ticket office.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist with general office duties including phone and mail responsibilities.
- Proactively selling ticket packages and groups.
- Maintain group sales and ticket package database.
- Learning, operating and troubleshooting various aspects of the Explorers ticket office operations.
- Develop a complete working knowledge of the entire Explorers ticketing system.
- Processing ticket order via window sales, telephone sales and online ticket orders
- Operate ticket window for game night sales, as well as the Will Call window.
- Assist in supervising ticket taker operations on game nights.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager & General Manager.
Stadium Operations/Grounds Crew (One Position Available)
Assist the head grounds keeper in all aspects of field preperation prior to and or during each game or extra event during the 2012 season.
Ensure the entire facility is ready for the arrival of each and every guest for each and every home game and or extra event at the facility.
Serve as the laison between the organization and the hired cleaning crew to assure the cleanliness of the entire facility.
Assure the public restrooms are all in good working order and propertly stocked with supplies prior to and during the course of every game and or extra event held at the facility. Communicate any facility needs or repairs to General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
Assure the landscaping inside and outside the facility is maintained prior to each and every game and or extra event at the facility.
Provide inventory control of all stadium equipment and supplies while ordering inventory for the cleaning crew and or head groundskeeper.
Other duties as assigned by head groundskeeper and or teams General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled as a full time student at a college or university.
- Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, demonstrate excellent follow-through, and have an understanding of appropriate business etiquette.
- Ability to work in a team setting while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends and able to commit to the entire 2012 Explorers home game schedule (May - August).
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, well-organized and strong computer knowledge.

The Sioux City Explorers Professional Baseball team is a proud member of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball located in Sioux City, IA.
Length of Agreement: 2012 Season (April 30th - August 30th, may be extended in the event the team qualifies for post season play).
Job Description:
Serve as the Head Athletic Trainer during all home and way games during the Sioux City Explorer 2012 season, while also being at all pre-season spring training games and all team practices before or during the season.
Establish and maintain accurate medical records for all Sioux City Explorer players and their related injuries during the course of the 2012 season.
Work in conjunction with the Sioux City Explorers Medical Staff to assure proper treatment and rehabilitation programs are being performed and provided to all athletes.
Responsible for communication on all player injuries with General Manager, Field Manager, and Explorers Medical Staff.
Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of all trainer supplies, team medical equipment.
Create stretching program in conjunction with SCEBC Field Manager.
Ensure the cleanliness of the Athletic training room at all times.
Promote the Sioux City Explorers in a positive manner at all times.
