 July 28, 2010 - Lincoln, NE-----The Sioux City Explorers stretched their winning streak to three games with an 11-6 win over Lincoln Wednesday at Haymarket Park. Kent Sakamoto led the 13-hit attack with three hits, including two doubles and three RBI's as the Explorers took the first game of the four-game series from Lincoln. Sakamoto had a two-run double in the first inning and Tim Alberts hit a two-run home run in the first as the Explorers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Alberts also had another hit to also drive in three runs for the X's. Besides Sakamoto and Alberts, T.J. Bohn and Ray Serrano also had two hits for the Explorers. Mikael Ryder pitched into the sixth inning and record his seventh win of the year. The victory moves the Explorers to just one-half game behind Lincoln in the American Association North standings in the second half. The second game of the series will be Thursday at 7:05 at Lincoln. |
