BOHN'S HOME RUN WINS IT FOR X'S
« Back

July 25, 2010 - Sioux City-----A leadoff-walk off home run by T.J. Bohn in the 11th inning gave the Explorers a 2-1 victory over Fort Worth Sunday at Lewis and Clark Park. Bohn's home run came off losing relief pitcher Gary Lee. It was Bohn's 12th home run of the season and gave the Explorers their second straight win over the Cats. Eddy Delacruz pitched the 11th inning to pick up the win, but starting hurler David Welch for the X's scattered seven hits in eight innings and struck out a season high ten batters, but got a no-decision. Fort Worth took a 1-0 lead in the third on a RBI single by John Allen. The Explorers tied the game in the seventh on a RBI double by Ernie Banks. Both teams had chances to win the game in the late innings, but it wasn't until Bohn drove a Lee hanging curver ball over the left field fence in the 11th that the contest was decided. The Explorers will have Monday and Tuesday off for the American Association All-Star break before resuming play on Wednesday when they open up a four-game series at Lincoln. The Explorers will return to Lewis and Clark Park on Monday, August 2nd to start a three-game series against St. Paul.
