EXPLORERS LOSE FOURTH STRAIGHT
« Back

July 21, 2010 - Sioux Falls, SD-----Sioux Falls scored an un-earned run in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Explorers 2-1 as the X's dropped their fourth straight. With one out in the bottom of the ninth, Gus Milner hit a fly ball to right field that glanced off the glove of Tim Alberts and rolled into foul territory which allowed Milner to end up at third base. Then Eddy Rodriguez singled to left field, his third hit of the game, to score Milner with the winning run. The Explorers only run came in the third inning on a RBI double by Derek Schermerhorn. Mikael Ryder pitched a solid seven and a third innings for the Explorers and had a no-decision as the loss went to relief pitcher David Trahan. Trahan came in relief in the eighth inning with the bases load and one out and turned the Pheasants away, but the un-earned run in the ninth sent him down as the losing hurler. The four game losing streak is the longest of the season for the Explorers. The final game of the three game series with the Pheasants will be Thursday at Sioux Falls. Game time will be 7:05.
