EXPLORERS LOSE SECOND STRAIGHT

July 19, 2010 - Sioux City-----Lincoln defeated the Explorers 10-5 Monday, winning for the second straight night and taking the four-game series three games to one. The Saltdogs jumped on the Explorers early taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Phil Hawke. Lincoln scored five runs in the second, three un-earned and led 7-0 after two. The Explorers bounced back and scored twice in the third on a two-run single by T.J. Bohn and cut the lead to 7-5 with three runs in the fifth inning, two runs scoring on the second hit of the game by Tim Alberts. However, Lincoln put the game away in the eighth inning scoring three runs on a two-run double by Albenis Machado and a RBI double by Gavin Dickey. With the loss, the Explorers fall to 5-8 in the second half and will play Sioux Falls Tuesday at Lewis and Clark Park starting at 7:05.
