 July 18, 2010 - Sioux City-----Lincoln righthander John James pitched a complete game as the Saltdogs defeated the Explorers Sunday 5-1. It was the first complete game of the season by a Saltdog pitcher. James, in nine innings struck out eight and didn't walk anyone in picking up his second win of the season. The Explorers were able to get only five hits off James, two of those off he bat of catcher Ray Serrano, who scored the only run for Sioux City in the fourth inning. With that run the Explorers tied the game at 1-1. However, in the top of the sixth Lincoln broke the tie when Brandon Jones singled to drive in two runs. Jae Jung took the loss for the Explorers, his third loss in a row. Lincoln now has taken two of three from the Explorers with the final game of the four-game series Monday at 7:05 at Lewis and Clark Park. |
