 February 19, 2010 - SIOUX CITY - The Sioux City Explorers Professional Baseball Team will be hosting the 2010 Aquafina- Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth at 11:30 AM on May 22nd, 2010 at Lewis & Clark Park, home of the Sioux City Explorers.
In conjunction with this event, Former Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball Pitcher and current Sioux City Explorers Field Manager, Les Lancaster and X's players will be conducting a FREE clinic prior to this event with the clinic set to start at 10:00 AM.
Pitch, Hit & Run is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete; free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.
Both Boy and Girl Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2010 MLB All-Star Game.
The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition. Registration forms may be filled out the day of the event or can be obtained prior to the event by visiting any of the local business partners listed below. ALL completed forms should be returned to the Sioux City Explorers or brought to Lewis & Clark Park on the day of the event.

** All participants that take part in the 2010 Aquafina- Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition will also receive one FREE reserved seat game ticket to attend the Sioux City Explorers game that evening versus the Sioux Falls Fighting Pheasants with the first pitch set for 7:05 PM.
